We are pleased to announce that completing the lineup of invited teams for the CS:GO Intel Extreme Masters World Championship Katowice 2017 are FaZe Clan and the newly established esports organisation, North. FaZe and North will join Virtus.pro, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Astralis, SK Gaming, Cloud9, OpTic Gaming as well as four other teams which will be determined through qualifiers.
FaZe Clan are an European team with great players in their lineup but without a tournament win to their name yet. They compete at the biggest CS:GO events and some of their results from 2016 include:
This year, FaZe Clan will return to Katowice for another chance at a tournament victory. Will they succeed in the Spodek arena?
North may be a brand new organisation but its roster is well known and experienced as it consist of the ex-Dignitas lineup. The players parted ways with Dignitas right after qualifying for the ELEAGUE major and started a new chapter with the newly established North, an affiliate of FC Copenhagen and Nordisk Film. This will be this roster's first appearance at an Intel Extreme Masters event and we cannot wait to see how they will perform against their opponents.
We now know eight out of the twelve teams which will participate at the CS:GO IEM World Championship Katowice this March. The last four teams will be determined through online qualifiers so be sure to keep an eye on our Twitter for updates about those.
