OGN, South Korea’s premier esports broadcaster, will be the official production partner for the final Intel® Extreme Masters stop of 2016. OGN specializes in broadcasting video game-related content and esports matches, and will produce both the global and Korean broadcasts for IEM Gyeonggi. The event will feature the country’s most popular gaming titles, including competitions in StarCraft II, League of Legends, and Overwatch. With this partnership, ESL hopes to convey the unique history and tone of Korean competitive gaming for IEM’s return to the home of esports.
From December 16-18, 16 StarCraft II players, eight League of Legends teams, and six Overwatch rosters from around the world will gather in the Goyang Sports Complex to compete for their respective IEM Gyeonggi championship titles and for a share over $200,000 in prizing. OGN has been at the center of all three IEM Gyeonggi titles in Korea with the OGN StarLeague, League of Legends Champions Korea, and the Overwatch APEX League.
The Overwatch IEM Gyeonggi Invitational will be the world’s first stadium event for Overwatch, bringing international flare to Korea’s national league. StarCraft II at IEM Gyeonggi will also be the first official event of the new WCS season, with the 2016 Championship concluding at BlizzCon in November.
Tickets to IEM Gyeonggi are now available. Entrance for the StarCraft II and League of Legends IEM Gyeonggi group stages, which will be held from December 14-15 at the Seoul OGN e-Stadium, will be free of charge. All broadcasts can be found on live.intelextrememasters.com.
