Vega Squadron and Dark Passage are headed to the next Intel Extreme Masters event, taking place in South Korea’s Gyeonggi. Both teams competed at IEM Challenger Paris last October and fought their way to the top of their groups, booking their ticket to the birthplace of esports to battle for the $100,000 League of Legends prize pool at the Goyang Sports Complex.
Vega Squadron are a Russian organisation who have yet to make themselves known on the League of Legends stage. Their support, however, is no stranger to playing and winning among the best. Edward, known mostly for his years in Gambit Gaming, is looking to climb back to the top with his new team.
Dark Passage are one of the best Turkish teams with experience on the international stage. They won multiple Splits in the Turkish League, finished in the top four in International Wildcard Tournaments, and made an appearance at 2014 Worlds.
Both teams enter IEM Gyeonggi as underdogs, but we have seen many times that underdogs should not be underestimated and look forward to seeing them compete.
