After an exciting week of Intel® Extreme Masters in the United States, it’s almost time to turn our attention to South Korea, where League of Legends and StarCraft II players from across the globe will head to IEM Gyeonggi from December 16-18, marking the first IEM tournament in the country since Season 3. Pick up a ticket to celebrate IEM’s return to South Korea live at the Goyang Sports Center.
This December, eight League of Legends teams will battle for the IEM Gyeonggi championship and a spot at the IEM World Championship in Katowice, Poland in 2017. Two teams from Korea will defend their home ground in the tournament, with representatives from Europe, North America, China, LMS, and two wildcard teams rounding out the lineup.
IEM Gyeonggi will be the first official event of WCS Korea 2017. 16 Korean StarCraft II teams will battle in the Goyang Sports Complex for a share of the $35,000 prize pool and WCS points. The StarCraft II side of IEM Gyeonggi will be a four day tournament, with the group stages taking place between December 14-18 and the last two days of matches happening live in the stadium.
