Zest, Dark, ByuN and Stats accept their invitations to Intel® Extreme Masters Gyeonggi!
Intel Extreme Masters’ return to South Korea will feature some of the world’s very best StarCraft® II players as the top 4 from BlizzCon accept their invitations.

Intel Extreme Masters Gyeonggi, taking place this December in the Goyang Sports Complex, will feature the first official WCS Korea event of 2017. We are thrilled to announce that the four invited players will be no other than ByuN, Dark, Zest and Stats. They will be joined by 12 other Korean players who will make their way to Gyeonggi through the online qualifiers, starting November 26th, making this IEM filled with world-class competitive StarCraft II.

These WCS Korea players received their invitation based on their Global Finals results at BlizzCon and their WCS 2016 standings in case of a tie.

The players

ByuN

The reigning GSL and World Champion of 2016. The "one man army" looks to begin his road to the 2017 Global Finals, continuing from where he left off. Last time we saw ByuN at Intel Extreme Masters was IEM Taipei where he took 2nd place after losing 2-4 in the final to sOs. Will he manage to keep his impressive form from BlizzCon and clinch the IEM Gyeonggi trophy?

Dark

The world's number one Zerg and WCS Global Finals runner up. Dark competed at IEM World Championship
Katowice 2015 where he took 3rd/4th place. Now, he's looking to lift his first Intel Extreme Masters trophy and to kick off the 2017 season in the best possible way.

Zest

Former Intel Extreme Masters World Champion and recent WCS Global Finals top 8 finisher returns for his fifth Intel Extreme Masters. We first saw Zest at IEM New York in season 8 where he took 9th/12th place. We then saw him at three IEM events in season 9: Shenzhen (5th/8th place), Toronto (2nd place) and World Championship Katowice where he lifted the trophy.

Stats

2016 StarLeague finalist and most recently WCS Global Finals top 4 finisher. Stats continues the search for his first SC2 premier title. This will be his first ever Intel Extreme Masters tournament.
